Following the success of our first Galicia tour in 2026, we’re going back for more in 2027.

Galicia is remote, green and spectacular, with winding river valleys, fishing towns, historic cities and vineyards stretching from the Atlantic coast into the interior. It isn't always the easiest part of Spain to explore, but that's also a big part of its appeal.

​

Our 2026 journey took us through three very different wine regions:

​

Rías Baixas

The home of Albariño, where vineyards, granite soils and the influence of the Atlantic shape both the wines and the landscape.

Ribeiro

One of Galicia's historic wine regions, where we discovered a very different side of Galician wine, including indigenous grape varieties and some excellent small producers.

Food is just as important here. Galicia is famous for its seafood, but there is much more to its gastronomy, with a food culture shaped by the Atlantic, the countryside and generations of farmers, fishermen and winemakers.

Ribeira Sacra

One of Galicia’s most dramatic wine regions, where vineyards cling to the steep slopes above the Sil and Miño rivers. This is the land of so-called heroic viticulture, with many vineyards worked by hand on terraces where machinery simply cannot go. Mencía is the star red grape here, alongside a growing appreciation of the region’s indigenous white varieties.

it wasn't all about wineries. We took a catamaran along the River Miño, combining the journey with a bodega visit, and headed out by boat among the bateas of Rías Baixas, the floating platforms used for Galicia's famous mussel farming. We also spent time in Vigo, Cambados and Santiago de Compostela.

​

Those experiences were among the highlights of the tour and helped us see just how much Galicia has to offer beyond the wine itself. It was a great few days, and the feedback from our guests confirmed what we already felt — Galicia is somewhere Sense Experiences should return to.

​

So that's exactly what we're doing in 2027.
