Our Murcia Wine Tour has always been one of our guests’ favourites. The combination of authentic producers, beautiful scenery, and relaxed hospitality struck a chord with everyone who’s joined our previous Murcia tours.
For May 2026, we’ve taken that same spirit and reimagined it — deeper, richer, and more connected than ever. From the high vineyards of Bullas to the Mediterranean coast at Cartagena, this new edition offers a rare insider’s view of one of Spain’s up and coming regions.
Highlights include
🍇 Visit to Bodega Monastrell – Alfonso García
A small, family-run winery in the Aceniche Valley. Alfonso farms biodynamically with full Demeter certification, creating expressive, living wines that reflect their soil and season.
🍇 Vineyard visit with Jorge Piernas
Visit Jorge Piernas, who farms a tiny patchwork of high-altitude old vines between 750 and 850 metres. Everything here is done gently — gravity-fed vinification, large-format oak, and a meditative attention to detail. His Monastrells have that same quiet energy: lifted, fine-textured, and scented with herbs and pine.
As Joan Belda Tortosa wrote in Tapas Magazine, “Jorge Piernas is a leading figure in winemaking both regionally and nationally.” Standing among his hillside vines, it’s easy to see why.
🍷 Evening tasting with De Nariz & Pura Viña
A special joint tasting at the Cehegín Wine School, bringing together the expressive, high-altitude wines of Pedro Martínez (De Nariz) and the small, vin de garage-style production of Rafa from Pura Viña — two producers redefining what modern Murcia tastes like.
🌿 EVOO Experience with Chef Firo Vázquez
An engaging and delicious masterclass in extra virgin olive oil led by acclaimed chef Firo Vázquez. Learn to taste olive oil like a professional and discover how freshness, harvest time, and terroir all shape flavour. You’ll never look at olive oil the same way again — from its vibrant aromas to its proven health benefits, Firo shows why great EVOO deserves the same respect as fine wine.
🔨 Traditional Cooperage Visit (pending confirmation)
Step into a working cooperage and see first-hand how barrels are crafted — a vanishing art form that connects centuries of craftsmanship to today’s winemaking.
⚓ Undersea Bodega Boat Tour – Cartagena
Sail from Cartagena to visit the Bodega Submarina, where wines mature beneath the waves. Enjoy a guided tasting of these unique underwater-aged wines — a perfect finale to the tour, combining land, sea, and innovation.
Accommodation
Stay in a restored Discalced Carmelite friary in Caravaca de la Cruz — still home to the order today. This peaceful setting has been one of our guests’ most memorable experiences. All rooms are ensuite, breakfast is included, and the atmosphere is quietly unforgettable.
